Today, he is an artist, writer, editor, public speaker, professional guide, hunter and a true icon in the outdoor world.  No one knows the outdoors or evokes the outdoor lifestyle like Dick Idol.

The Artist

Nationally acclaimed in the art world as one of the most talented sculptors, painters and creators of wildlife art, Idol has created more than 30 bronze editions, published lithograph prints and completed four of the largest mammal bronze monuments in the world.  Dick Idol continues to create timeless masterpieces in his home studio in Whitefish, Montana, surrounded by the inspiration of his works and well off the beaten path; the closest road is two miles away. His passion for outdoor wildlife is clearly seen in his artwork, where he vividly captures the true personality and soul of his wildlife subjects.

Urban Craftsmen

Rustic Origins, Modern Vision

SCALE - Newer homes, apartments, lofts, even town homes require furniture that is slightly smaller scale and lower in profile.  Now, these homeowners can create a rustic retreat in their home with the "Urban Craftsmen" collection.  The pieces appear to be bold in size but they are actually a smaller scale to work in a wide variety of homes.

MATERIALS - This solid wood group utilizes Mango wood featuring naturally occurring grain and knots highlighted by a rich amber finish with a soft sheen.  Key accents include distressed, antiqued, cast pewter hardware, peg detailing, and rough-hewn planking.  Occasional tables and accent pieces include slate and antiqued copper insets and incorporate baskets for a rustic feel.

DESIGN - Primitive designs of early American craftsmen were more simplistic and showcased the beauty of the wood rather than complicated design.  This design philosophy served as the inspiration for the "Urban Craftsmen" group; a collection of furniture that balances rustic origins with a modern looks with antiques and old and organic with contemporary elements .  It's eclectic styling that offers rustic elements with a modern twist.
